Summer Calls
June is almost over,
Soon July will start.
Summer fun begins in earnest,
At beaches and at parks.
It’s time to wear those short light clothes,
And SPF 30 there on your skin
No sunburn do we want to mar
That fun-filled summer grin!
It’s time to stay up late,
And watch the sun sink in the west,
And stars begin their nightly glow,
And crickets sing their best.
It’s time to hold your partner’s hand,
And enjoy the awesome view,
Then turn and watch each other’s glow,
As soft as morning’s dew.
The evening has a special warmth,
That heats up even more,
As tender looks take on new forms,
As lips meet and then explore.
Bodies drawn close and tight,
Hands caress the forms they touch,
Forms are molded into one,
The grass a plush green couch.
With Rigel twinking there on high,
Or Polaris shining bright,
The union of two lovers’ souls,
Merge in pure delight.
Quiet now the darkness,
Silent lovers lay,
Peering up at heaven’s glory,
Basking in their evening’s play.
Tomorrow will soon start dawning,
Another day begins,
But summer promises lots of nights,
To do it all again.
