Yesterday was nice ... but very windy. Kind of ruined my outdoor work plans. I had some painting to do, but didn't want to see it land on everything ... and some limb cutting (about 10-20' off the ground near wires and I wasn't thrilled trying to do the cutting on a ladder in those conditions. Oh well, there's always next week ... I hope.

Good taste! I do so love a celluloid pickguard.

I've got all the new windows I bought installed as of today. (Round 1...we'll do the next round when these are paid off.) And I've got a surprise storm blowing cool breezes through my new screens.

A guilty pleasure of mine

dicksbro 11-08-2015 05:18 PM

I've got a bit of a sore hip. I think when I worked on the yard I twisted or strained something. :(

Lilith 12-19-2015 05:33 PM

That is awesome news!

dicksbro 01-08-2016 01:58 AM

Thanks, Lilith. It's been 6 1/2 years since they first found the colon cancer and 3 1/2 since the little nodule on the lung (colon cancer that metastasized through the lymph nodes) was removed. Another year and a half and I can start donating blood again. :)

A powerball ticket

AZRedHot 01-13-2016 10:18 PM

Excellent news indeed DB.

I think criteria for blood donation must be very different where you are then, as I'm no longer allowed to donate because of the chemo I had. Apparently I wouldn't be allowed to even if it had only been radiotherapy I'd had. Go figure.

dicksbro 01-14-2016 03:07 AM

Interesting. I've been told I have to be five continuous years free of cancer. I don't mind giving so I'll be anxious to get back to doing that. I'll have to ask about the chemo. Had that with the original colon cancer, but not with the lung.

You can find something wrong in the inspection to get you out of it! ;)

Lord Snow 01-15-2016 06:57 AM

Just an idea, but you could say that because it's not filled with the lovely, talented, and ever horny Pixie women you refuse to buy.

That ought to do it! :roflmao

And if they don't get it, it'd be a good chance to recruit new members. :)

Lilith 01-28-2016 10:03 AM

Goose bumps

dicksbro 01-29-2016 12:03 AM

I've got a morning visit with a new cardiologist (my former has located a new practice in another state. :( ).

Lord Snow 01-29-2016 07:40 AM

Was he recommended by your previous cardiologist?

dicksbro 01-30-2016 03:18 AM

Yep. He sure was and from this meeting, he seems like he'll be terrific. He's a young doctor, but seems very sharp and it was obvious before he saw me that he had reviewed by "heart history" since 2002 when I had my bypass. I was impressed.

I think I got a good one!
