Baby, It's Cold Outside
I really can't stay - Baby it's cold outside I've got to go away - Baby it's cold outside This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in So very nice - I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice My mother will start to worry - Beautiful, what's your hurry My father will be pacing the floor - Listen to the fireplace roar So really I'd better scurry - Beautiful, please don't hurry Well maybe just a half a drink more - Put some music on while I pour The neighbors might think - Baby, it's bad out there Say, what's in this drink - No cabs to be had out there I wish I knew how - Your eyes are like starlight To break the spell - I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell I ought to say no, no, no, sir - Mind if I move closer At least I'm gonna say that I tried - What's the sense in hurting my pride? I really can't stay - Baby don't hold out Ahh, but it's cold outside I simply must go - Baby, it's cold outside The answer is no - Ooh darling, it's cold outside This welcome has been - I'm lucky that you dropped in So nice and warm - Look out the window at that storm My sister will be suspicious - Man, your lips look delicious My brother will be there at the door - Waves upon a tropical shore My maiden aunt's mind is vicious - Gosh your lips are delicious Well maybe just a half a drink more - Never such a blizzard before I've got to go home - Oh, baby, you'll freeze out there Say, lend me your coat - It's up to your knees out there You've really been grand - I thrill when you touch my hand But don't you see - How can you do this thing to me? There's bound to be talk tomorrow - Think of my life long sorrow At least there will be plenty implied - If you caught pneumonia and died I really can't stay - Get over that hold out Ahh, but it's cold outside |
Rise - The Cult
You are the sun, I am the flame You are the blood, I am the same We are the love that rises again They are the snake that bites on your veins We are not chained to the wheel You are the tear, I have no fear You are so strange, I feel the same Sorcerous mind, we ride again We are not chained to the wheel, to the wheel It's the way that you feel It's the truth in your eye You got wings upon your back and you can fly It's the way that you feel It's the truth in your eye 'Cause you're up against the world and still you rise And still you rise You are alive and high in my dreams You are the stars that mystify me And you are the wolf that frightens the thief And you are the voice that they disbelieve We are not chained to the wheel And you are the spark that sets us all free We are not chained to the wheel, to the wheel It's the way that you feel It's the truth in your eye You got wings upon your back and you can fly It's the way that you feel It's the truth in your eye 'Cause you're up against the world and still you rise And still you rise Whoa, baby It's the way that you feel It's the truth in your eye You got wings upon your back and you can fly It's the way that you feel It's the truth in your eye 'Cause you're up against the world and still you rise And still you rise Still you rise Still you rise |

Whipping Post
I been run down Lord, I been lied to And I don't know why I let that mean woman make out a fool She took all my money Wrecked my new car Now she's with one of my good-time buddies, Drinkin' in some cross-town bar Sometimes I feel Sometimes I feel Like I been Tied to the whippin' post Tied to the whippin' post Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin' My friends tell me That I been such a fool But I got to stand there an' take it All for loving you Drown myself in sorrow As I look at what you done Nothin' seems to change; That bad times stay the same, And I can't run Sometimes I feel Sometimes I feel Like I been Tied to the whippin' post Tied to the whippin' post Good Lord, I feel like I'm dyin' |
Bitter Pill - Warrant
Sometimes I'm lost And then I'm found Sometimes I feel Turned inside out I'm often silent when I'm screaming inside Instead of love We tend to hate We never quite Appreciate How much the other person cares or tries Hold me close Don't ever let me go Cause I'm confused But maybe someday I will know why Sometimes I'm right as rain And when it rains it pours You're such a mystery Why can't I unlock the door All that glitters isn't gold Too much is overkill Love can be beautiful Or a bitter pill And when I'm right I'm also wrong We give and take To get along There's so much more to this than I ever dreamed And when you smile I have to laugh And when you cry I'm torn in half So calm and yet so loose at the seams Oh Hold me close Don't ever let me go I'm confused But maybe someday I will know why Sometimes I'm right as rain And when it rains it pours You're such a mystery Why can't I unlock the door All that glitters isn't gold Too much is overkill Love can be beautiful Or a bitter pill Liebe kann eine bittere pille sein Eine bittere pille Liebe ist eine bittere pille Eine bittere pille Liebe kann eine bittere pille sein Ich will ein bier Ich will besoffen sein Die ganze welt ist dumm Mir steht es so im hals Ich sage dir Die liebe kann nur luge sein Hold me close Don't ever let me go Cause I'm confused But maybe someday I will know why Sometimes I'm right as rain And when it rains it pours You're such a mystery Why can't I unlock the door All that glitters isn't gold Too much is overkill Love can be beautiful Or a bitter pill Or a bitter pill |
Love you Dad, this one's for you...
Tank Park Salute : Billy Bragg
Kiss me goodnight and say my prayers Leave the light on at the top of the stairs Tell me the names of the stars up in the sky A tree taps on the window pane That feeling smothers me again Daddy is it true that we all have to die? At the top of the stairs Is darkness At the top of the stairs Is darkness I closed my eyes and when I looked Your name was in the memorial book And what had become of all the things we planned I accepted the commiserations Of all your friends and your relations But there's some things I still don't understand You were so tall How could you fall? Some photographs of a summer's day A little boy's lifetime away Is all I've left of everything we've done Like a pale moon in a sunny sky Death gazes down as I pass by To remind me that I'm but my father's son I offer up to you This tribute I offer up to you This tank park salute |

A Song For You Leon Russell
I've been so many places in my life and time, I've sung a lot of songs, I've made some bad rhyme, I've acted out my life in stages, with ten thousand people watching, but we're alone now, and I'm singing this song for you. I know your image of me is what I hope to be, I treated you unkindly, but darling can't you see, there's no one more important to me, baby can't you please see through me, cause we're alone now and I'm singing this song for you. You taught me precious secrets of the truth withholding nothing, you came out in front when I was hiding, but now I'm so much better, and if my words don't come together, listen to the melody, cause my love is in there hiding... I love you in a place where there's no space or time, I love you for my life, you are a friend of mine, and when my life is over, remember when we were together, we were alone and I was singing this song for you. We were alone and I was singing this song for you. |
This followed the times of my striving to be free & unhindered with my lovely bride & our dreams to dream & our lives to live in love & the rewards of our toils for new prosperous days:
The red-headed stranger from Blue Rock, Montana, Rode into town one day. And under his knees was a ragin' black stallion, And walkin' behind was a bay. The red-headed stranger had eyes like the thunder, And his lips, they were sad and tight. His little lost love lay asleep on the hillside, And his heart was heavy as night. Don't cross him, don't boss him. He's wild in his sorrow: He's ridin' an' hidin his pain. Don't fight him, don't spite him; Just wait till tomorrow, Maybe he'll ride on again. A yellow-haired lady leaned out of her window, An' watched as he passed her way. She drew back in fear at the sight of the stallion, But cast greedy eyes on the bay. But how could she know that this dancin' bay pony, Meant more to him than life. For this was the horse that his little lost darlin', Had ridden when she was his wife. Don't cross him, don't boss him. He's wild in his sorrow: He's ridin' an' hidin his pain. Don't fight him, don't spite him; Just wait till tomorrow, Maybe he'll ride on again. The yellow-haired lady came down to the tavern, An' looked up the stranger there. He bought her a drink, an' he gave her some money, He just didn't seem to care. She followed him out as he saddled his stallion, An' laughed as she grabbed at the bay. He shot her so quick, they had no time to warn her, She never heard anyone say: "Don't cross him, don't boss him. "He's wild in his sorrow: "He's ridin' an' hidin his pain. "Don't fight him, don't spite him; "Just wait till tomorrow, "Maybe he'll ride on again." The yellow-haired lady was buried at sunset, the stranger went free, of course. For you can't hang a man for killin' a woman whose trying to steal your horse. Well, this is the tale of the red-headed stranger, and if he should pass your way, stay out of the path of the ragin' black stallion, and don't lay a hand on the bay. Don't cross him, don't boss him. He's wild in his sorrow: He's ridin' an' hidin his pain. Don't fight him, don't spite him; Just wait till tomorrow, Maybe he'll ride on again. :cboy: I was thinkin' 'bout the "Time of the Preacher," and how they sometimes are just lofty hopes ridin' on airy words, delivered in such eloquence that the spirit seems to take away our cares and brings comforts and joys, short lived in the swamp of gravity and the sting of the coldness of night. |
Mud On The Tires <<--- listen here
I've got some big news The bank finally came through And I'm holdin' the keys to a brand new Chevrolet Have you been outside it sure is a nice night How about a little test drive Down by the lake There's a place I know about where the dirt road runs out And we can try out the four-wheel drive Come on now what do you say Girl, I can hardly wait to get a little mud on the tires 'Cause it's a good night To be out there soakin' up the moonlight Stake out a little piece of shoreline I've got the perfect place in mind It's in the middle of nowhere only one way to get there You gotta get a little mud on the tires Moonlight on a duck blind Catfish on a trot line Sun sets about nine this time of year We can throw a blanket down Crickets singin' in the background And more stars than you can count on a night this clear I tell you what we need to do is grab a sleepin' bag or two And build us a little campfire And then with a little luck we might just get stuck Let's get a little mud on the tires 'Cause it's a good night To be out there soakin' up the moonlight Stake out a little piece of shoreline I've got the perfect place in mind It's in the middle of nowhere only one way to get there You gotta get a little mud on the tires And then with a little luck we might just get stuck Let's get a little mud on the tires |
The Price We Pay - Clawfinger
Things never seem to go according to plans so we always end up compromising, we're not smart enough to have a plan B at hand so we always end up improvising, it's killing us to settle with the cards we get when we know there's much more at stake, but giving in to pressure is the safest bet & it's also our biggest mistake. Chorus: That's the price we pay, that's the price we pay (x4) we never asked to be put into this position we never had high demands, we never claimed to be on some kind of mission like we had some kind of masterplan, it's not as if we know exactly what we came for so we settle for what comes our way, we're always unprepared for the final encore what the fuck are we supposed to say. Chorus Every move we make every step we take that's the price we pay, every rule we break, every move we fake that's the price we pay! (x2) |
Because it shouldn't be forgotten...
