Hard to believe no posts since November. Oh well ... we've been lucky so far ... only a couple of minor dustings of snow and intermittent period of time when temps even reached the 50's. In a cold spell right not (single digit temps) but ... hey ... it's January in Illinois. Wadda ya' expect?

I've been helping my 86 year old father get set up in an appartment. Although he's a spry 86 year old, we've arranged for an organizatiojn called "We Care" to visit 3 times a week to tend to the things he has difficulty doing. So far, so good.

Spent most of yesterday morning and part of the afternoon visiting shut-ins from our church. We do that about once a month.

We expect to have 17 people sit down for Easter dinner.

Gotta take my wife to the dentist this morning.

My son starts a new job on Monday.

One of our girls and her family will be moving come the end of April.

My son's girl friend took him to visit her aunt and uncle in Allentown PA this weekend.

We went to see that animation "Home." Very cute story and characters.

Need to get some blood work done today.

Our son stopped by yesterday afternoon and it was great seeing him. Been a week or two. :)

I had the cats dancing this morning with the cats' toys.

Got to see another of our sons this morning when we stopped at WalMart to pick up a couple of things.

I need a haircut!

Any big plans for summer trips?

Perhaps a trip down to Delaware to visit the in-laws, daughter, and the beach. How about you and yours?

The cats are getting restless with the smell of Sunday Dinner in the air.

No doubt a trip over to Indianapolis to see our daughter ... and ... possibly a trip to Atlanta to see another daughter.

Any big "around the house" projects?

We'll be attending the last concert of the current Bach in Baltimore's season today.

Stormy day and night ... is your area expecting any bad weather?

The bad rain has been skirting The Lakes and being less than 500' away has made for a perfect summer so far. Just enough to keep everything green without any gully washers.:nana:

We just had 3.5" the day before yesterday. But, it was really a good rain. Came straight down ... not so heavy as to simply wash everything away ...

Only negative is that the grass suddenly needed mowing again. :(

One of the features of living in a row home is that little yard maintenance is needed.


Our cats dislike the heat, and congregate in the air-conditioned rooms.

We seem to be getting a few hot days followed by a few days that are somewhat cooler. Can't seem to make up it's mind which season it wants to be in. :shrug:

Helped my son move into his new apartment on Saturday.

Mostly, yes. He has some residual odds and ends upstairs that (I hope) he'll be back for this weekend.

I ached a lot yesterday. Did a bunch of yard work (with a bunch more to go :( ).

Today, we're headed to Peoria to go on a riverboat cruise on the Spirit of Peoria. That's always fun and relaxing. :)

That's been the story of this year for us. Too many unexpected things came up. :(

We're going to church at 8AM and then planning on having our boys home this morning followed by going over to our daughter's home around noon.
