Not really recently.

You enjoy a good book every once in awhile.

dicksbro 10-29-2014 01:41 AM

True ... reading a Daniel Silva espionage book now (about 2/3 done).

You like to rake leaves.

kleclere 11-01-2014 12:40 PM

Landlord does that.

You enjoy popcorn and snacks at the movies.

dicksbro 11-02-2014 03:20 AM

We do. My wife and I and we see a lot of movies.

You like to keep your car clean as much as possible.

kleclere 11-02-2014 02:27 PM

I try.

You enjoy warm drinks when it is cold.

dicksbro 11-03-2014 04:17 AM

True. I'e been having a lot of hot tea in the mornings recently. :)

You like to take long, hot showers.

kleclere 11-03-2014 04:34 PM

I do until the hot water runs out.

You believe the sun will come out tomorrow.

dicksbro 11-04-2014 04:18 AM

Absolutely. It may be above clouds so we can't see it ... but, it'll be out there. :D

Are you ready for the holidays?

kleclere 11-04-2014 04:57 PM

About as ready as can be.

You have plans for Thanksgiving.

dicksbro 11-05-2014 12:24 AM

Actually, nothing definite yet. Not sure if our daughters or we will be having dinner.

You always love having turkey sandwiches afterwards. :)

dicksbro 01-01-2015 04:40 AM

Hard to believe no posts since November. Oh well ... we've been lucky so far ... only a couple of minor dustings of snow and intermittent period of time when temps even reached the 50's. In a cold spell right not (single digit temps) but ... hey ... it's January in Illinois. Wadda ya' expect?

jseal 03-06-2015 02:07 PM

I've been helping my 86 year old father get set up in an appartment. Although he's a spry 86 year old, we've arranged for an organizatiojn called "We Care" to visit 3 times a week to tend to the things he has difficulty doing. So far, so good.

dicksbro 03-07-2015 01:58 AM

Spent most of yesterday morning and part of the afternoon visiting shut-ins from our church. We do that about once a month.

jseal 03-18-2015 03:50 AM

We expect to have 17 people sit down for Easter dinner.

dicksbro 03-19-2015 01:53 AM

Gotta take my wife to the dentist this morning.

jseal 03-21-2015 12:19 PM

My son starts a new job on Monday.

dicksbro 03-22-2015 03:16 PM

One of our girls and her family will be moving come the end of April.

jseal 04-12-2015 04:48 AM

My son's girl friend took him to visit her aunt and uncle in Allentown PA this weekend.

dicksbro 04-13-2015 12:19 AM

We went to see that animation "Home." Very cute story and characters.

jseal 04-25-2015 07:10 AM

Need to get some blood work done today.

dicksbro 04-26-2015 01:07 AM

Our son stopped by yesterday afternoon and it was great seeing him. Been a week or two. :)

jseal 05-25-2015 05:43 AM

I had the cats dancing this morning with the cats' toys.

dicksbro 05-25-2015 09:59 AM

Got to see another of our sons this morning when we stopped at WalMart to pick up a couple of things.

jseal 05-30-2015 01:12 PM

I need a haircut!

dicksbro 05-31-2015 12:16 AM

I'm going to need one pretty soon, too, jseal?

Any big plans for summer trips?

jseal 05-31-2015 12:39 PM

Perhaps a trip down to Delaware to visit the in-laws, daughter, and the beach. How about you and yours?

The cats are getting restless with the smell of Sunday Dinner in the air.

dicksbro 06-01-2015 02:01 AM

No doubt a trip over to Indianapolis to see our daughter ... and ... possibly a trip to Atlanta to see another daughter.

Any big "around the house" projects?

jseal 06-07-2015 12:08 PM

Nothing scheduled.

We'll be attending the last concert of the current Bach in Baltimore's season today.

dicksbro 06-07-2015 09:47 PM

Good for you. Hope you have a great time.

Our town is starting their Summer in the Park concert series this coming Thursday evening. Always nice.

Stormy day and night ... is your area expecting any bad weather?

PantyFanatic 06-09-2015 07:40 PM

The bad rain has been skirting The Lakes and being less than 500' away has made for a perfect summer so far. Just enough to keep everything green without any gully washers.:nana:

dicksbro 06-10-2015 02:13 AM

We just had 3.5" the day before yesterday. But, it was really a good rain. Came straight down ... not so heavy as to simply wash everything away ...

Only negative is that the grass suddenly needed mowing again. :(

jseal 06-13-2015 06:28 AM

One of the features of living in a row home is that little yard maintenance is needed.

Our cats dislike the heat, and congregate in the air-conditioned rooms.

dicksbro 06-13-2015 10:13 PM

We seem to be getting a few hot days followed by a few days that are somewhat cooler. Can't seem to make up it's mind which season it wants to be in.

jseal 06-25-2015 03:38 AM

Helped my son move into his new apartment on Saturday.

dicksbro 06-25-2015 10:54 PM

That was very nice of you, jseal. Did he get all moved in?

jseal 06-27-2015 04:22 AM

Mostly, yes. He has some residual odds and ends upstairs that (I hope) he'll be back for this weekend.

... and Wowzers! did I ache on Monday & Tuesday!

dicksbro 07-25-2015 12:50 AM

I ached a lot yesterday. Did a bunch of yard work (with a bunch more to go :( ).

Today, we're headed to Peoria to go on a riverboat cruise on the Spirit of Peoria. That's always fun and relaxing. :)

jseal 07-25-2015 02:06 PM

Spent too many $$$ today! :yikes:

dicksbro 07-26-2015 12:06 AM

That's been the story of this year for us. Too many unexpected things came up. :(

dicksbro 12-25-2015 02:25 AM

We're going to church at 8AM and then planning on having our boys home this morning followed by going over to our daughter's home around noon.
