This is now the battle of the institutes of sport, not the "privateers".

I imagine it must be quite confusing for your schedule...the events themselves are happening pretty close to your time zone, but some of the big name competitions are being held at ungodly hours Beijing time, just so NBC (NoBodyCares) can run them live in US primetime...

I think it was last night I saw your Aussie girl win the gold for the breaststroke...the only competition there was who would come in a distant 2nd (we need an "oh wow!" smilie)

Leisel Jones...and yep i watched it too. She can sure punch those strokes out!! An Excellent win there, and certainly well deserved!

I am not interested at all int the Olympics, but if I need to I will only watch the water sports

I especially enjoied the 25 meter Hack 'n Wheeze, and the Where did we throw that discus? competition.

Where did you get to see that? :confused: I've seen a tiny bit of people ridding bicycles really fast, :rolleyes: .... lots of gymnastics and volleyball in a sandbox and LOTS and LOTS of swimming. We know who bigfoot Phelps is. Now can we see some of the other 28 sports, from archery to wrestling, that make up the summer Olympics? Maybe like the pentathlon that it was all about to start. Just because we the US sucks at it doesn't mean we don't want to watch some of it. :shrug:

They showed the basketball at one point I think......and I've been wanting archery to be televised for years. Unfortunately, for the networks it's all about ratings so we'll never get to see anything but the gymnastics, volleyball, and swimming. It sucks monkey nuts.

If you have cable or satilite MSNBC,CNBC, Oxygen and USA channels are showing other sports. I have seen some archery, equisterian and shooting compititions. Also baseball and softball

I enjoy the Track and Field events, having been a former track man in high school.

I also like the equestrian events.

I've been watching the swimming. Super proud of Torres!

You know, with all the hype about the Olympics I could really care less about them. *shrug* Oh well. I guess I'll watch movies for the next.... um.... however long it takes....
