sodaklostsoul 09-26-2010 05:50 PM

I saw $2.61 today.

dicksbro 09-27-2010 06:05 AM

$2.65 is the best I've seen around here. In town, it's at $2.69. :(

dicksbro 09-29-2010 07:07 PM

Still $2.65 is the best I've seen locally.

Lord Snow 09-29-2010 08:18 PM

I filled up at 2.49 today.

jay-t 09-30-2010 04:13 PM

$2.49 here also

Lisa976 09-30-2010 07:36 PM

I remember about 8 years ago, I was driving through Kentucky on the way to Ohio. We were needed gas and I pushed it a little further than I should have. I stopped at the next exit and the station there was charging $1.04 per gallon. I was mad because everybody else had it for 99 cents.

Now, I'd be happy to see $2.04 per gallon.

Funny how times change. Just from the beginning of this thread, things have changed.

Lord Snow 10-01-2010 09:29 AM

6 years ago it was 1.98 at the gas station just up the street which was always a few cents higher than the large chains. Then again 14 years ago at the same gas station I was able to walk up there with 2 dollars and get a liter dr.pepper, a candy bar, and some double bubble bubble gum. Now the 24 oz. dr. pepper is 1.39 or something like that.

jay-t 10-01-2010 06:22 PM

Did you ever think it would cost $10.00 for gas just to mow the yard?

dicksbro 10-02-2010 05:42 AM

(Showing my age) ... I remember when stamps were just 3 cents ... and service was faster. :(

Lord Snow 10-02-2010 10:15 AM

But do you remember full service gas stations where they not only pumped your gas, but checked all your fluid levels and tire pressure?

dicksbro 10-03-2010 04:23 AM

Yep ... and the commercial "... You can trust your car to the man that wears the star ... the big red Texaco star!"

dicksbro 10-07-2010 03:36 AM

$2.71 seems to have been the lowest I saw yesterday. One local station was at $2.85. :yikes: :(

jay-t 10-07-2010 04:14 PM

$2.55 here

jseal 10-07-2010 07:46 PM

Down to $2.58 / gal here.

sodaklostsoul 10-10-2010 10:30 AM

I paid $2.77 at noon on Sat, and by 4 pm it was up to $2.95. WTF!!

jay-t 10-11-2010 04:47 PM

Jumped here to $2.69! Must be because of fall break

dicksbro 03-02-2011 04:04 AM

Oh what a difference a few months made ... our gasoline price has jumped to $3.459 per gallon this week.

Oldfart 03-02-2011 04:15 AM

$5.317/gal(US).

dm383 03-02-2011 04:59 AM

Want a real scare?

Unleaded at my local supermarket (which, generally, are cheaper than normal petrol/gas stations) is now £1.29 a LITRE!!!

That's £5.86 a GALLON!!!

Or $9.42 in USD!

I'm gonna have myself a riot I think!!! :banghead: :banghead:

DM

Oldfart 03-02-2011 06:16 AM

Relax, DM383, it's not that bad.

GBP4.773 per US Gallon.

themi01 03-02-2011 09:39 AM

Could you buy a few extra gallons and send them to each of us? :D

dicksbro 03-06-2011 08:05 AM

We're at $3.559 now. Used to be they'd jump the price, then slowly drop it back down until late in the week and then raise it for the weekend. Last two increases never dropped back any. Funny thing is that despite the problems in the middle east, production hasn't dropped (except in Libya) and there are no shortages. Ya' think they're taking advantage of us?

Oldfart 03-06-2011 08:52 AM

I am shocked that you could be so cynical, young DB.

You know that big business will always act in the best interests of the consumer, without whom they are lost and without direction.

Did I ever tell you about the frog and the scorpion?

jay-t 03-06-2011 09:13 PM

$3.29 around here

There is no petro shortage now and has not been for over 30 years. There is no lack of processing facility and has not been. One of the 'seven sisters' had a highly publicized accident that caused 40 billion electronic credits be transferred and now it's time to move them back. It's that simple. With a daily world demand for 85 million barrels (or 3.5 billion gallons), adding $1USD per gallon will have it back in one season, then drop the price half the increase will make us feel grateful as hell and the wealth continues to transfer from the contented masses.

Oldfart 03-07-2011 01:18 AM

The coffee conspiracy.

Lord Snow 03-07-2011 06:20 AM

Are we certain we got Richard "Tricky Dick" Nixon out of power? Cause I think we're getting fucked.

sodaklostsoul 03-07-2011 09:41 AM

Fort Collins is all over for gas prices. Up the street from where we are staying on one side is $3.25, other side of the road is $3.35 and across town I saw $2.89 yesterday. I have also seen $3.39 and $3.45.

Lord Snow 03-07-2011 05:01 PM

3.35 today.

Aqua 03-07-2011 06:37 PM

$3.63 at the station by my office.

dicksbro 03-07-2011 06:57 PM

Peoria is still at $3.549/gal but locally, our stations after a brief increase have slipped back to $3.459. Still too much but better. Reprieve may just be temporary. Folks at the station I got gasoline at today suggested it's likely to jump back to $3.55 later this week. :(

Obviously he wasn't the only clown in the circus. The new one we've got now has almost put all the others to shame. :(

Lord Snow 03-07-2011 09:39 PM

I saw a bumper sticker that said "Obama BinLyin"......think that gives an accurate description?

Oldfart 03-07-2011 11:15 PM

Possibly not intentionally, but he is a politician.

IM1469 03-09-2011 01:37 PM

$3.499 here. On Sundays many of the convenience stores offered a .04 cents discount to entice shoppers to come into the store. Over the last month, that offer has disappeared.

Yep, that seems to be a universal problem, doesn't it? :boink:

$3.459 here.

jay-t 03-14-2011 02:04 PM
