You're right!I never heard of 85 Octane.The closest,that I've ever heard is 89.

We have quite a few 87 and 88 pumps here in Iowa. Our gas, of course, is blended with ethanol, and the ethanol-blended gas (midgrade at 89) is often a penny or two cheaper per gallon than the 87 octane.

Our 89 octane has dropped to $2.16/gallon in the last couple of days.

Regular was $2.19 today

I thought prices were supposed to be going down? Jumped overnight from 2.95 to 3.09 - that's 14 cents in ONE day!!!

Ours jumped from $2.78 to $2.93 a $.15 jump overnight.

You know what's really irritating, that fuel is one of the few things we buy that doesn't "add the taxes on" when you pay for the purchase. Almost a third of our price is taxes! They just don't tell you that. :mad:
