Transitions - Jef Raskin
Jef Raskin, who led the design team that created the Apple Macintosh, died on February 26th at his home in California. He was 61 years old.
Mr. Raskin believed that good design should make computers easy to use. The result was a design that replaced what was then the common text-based interface for one based around graphics that resembled a virtual desktop. Users worked with this machine by using a mouse and by pointing, clicking and dragging. Although now used by almost all computers, this user interface was first commercially successful when delivered with the Macintosh. |
I learned computers on 8086 and 8088 machines using DOS.
Thank you Mr Raskin. |
jseal---Please don't say that someone 61 died,I was 61 yesterday! Irish :thumb:
