Voice and attraction

What about someone of the opposite sex's voice makes them attractive to you?

LixyChick 08-16-2002 05:26 AM

There is a subtle change in a speaking voice when hearing him in an open forum and then his attention is turned to you. If the attraction exists I can hear that change as he directs his comments towards me. The tone drops an octave and the words are spoken slower and clearer......as if to savour the magic moment of the initial meeting. Deep, slow and clear..........oh so sexy!

not exactly sure why it is... but there are men out there that cause a complete physical reaction when I hear their voice. I am not sure if there is a particular quality in theirs that make this happen or not. I have never really thought about it... guess I will have to pay closer attention next time.

Accents are sexy. Any type will cause me to take notice.

Some people's voices (male or female) seem to have a clarity and sincerity that makes me, at least, take notice of them.

I think ladies that sound happy, confident and maybe just a little flirtatious (sp) are very sexy, even if the relationship itself is only that of being friends.

Going the other way, my wife loves how Tom Selleck, James Garner and Sean Connery sound and thinks they are very sexy. I can understand that and think it's neat for her to share that with me.

dicksbro... I agree with your wife on Sean Connery... tho I imagine that the majority of female population do as well :) He is one VERY sexy man... and proves that men age very gracefully.. altho I have never thought he was at all attractive in his early bond movies... *sigh*..now is another story... and he is old enough to be my grandfather. LOL... but OH MY...

Oh WOW!! I certainly agree about Sean Connery...He could read the phone book to me and I'd get turned on.....same with Patrick Stewart from Star Trek - NG!

Some people just have a certain quality in their voice...impossible to identify just what that quality is....that is incredibly sexy. And just talking to them can be a huge turn-on. Oh Hell, sometimes just the way he says. "Hey, Baby!" when he answers the phone can do a number on me....;) :D

There is a girl named Susi Müller being famous only for the sexy voice she has. They used her for german TV shows as a background voice and the reaction was that many men asked her for getting married with them without actually having seen her face...

I like many different types of voices...low growling whispers like those made by lips close to your ear.....sexy accents which often have the allure of something different, not the norm....a casual confident relaxed speech pattern.....and even the silly, gentle, lovesick voice some men have when they speak to their young children...all so sexy;)

Some people just have a strong presence which is reflected in their voice. A lot of actors and actresses have it and it's something you can work on. Just sound like you mean what you say, and try to sound that little bit distinct from the crowd. I do a lot of acting, and i've found that these days i get a lot of compliments on my voice.

In fact, after just a three minute phone conversation at work with a guy i'd never met, he started chatting me up via e-mail on the strength of my sexy voice and our cyber/phone sex relationship is still going strong 7 months later, with plans to meet when he returns from abroad! Just shows how strong 'vocal attraction' can be . . .

There is a certain, I suppose thoatiness could describe it, in certain voices that does it for me. But its not just plain huskiness, there is a little more to the timbre that I can't really put into words.

heatluvintxn 08-17-2002 10:21 AM

With men a bass voice is very nice....those lower tones get me going. Of course some accents are appealling too...like British accents...

Oldfart 08-17-2002 11:29 AM

Cannot explain it, but some voices reach out and grab

you by the libido.

It's just part of that wonderful thing called sexual magic.

scotzoidman 08-17-2002 10:19 PM

For me, the Voice that has always done it for me is Mary Clayton singing on the Stones "Gimme Shelter"...mid-point in the song, her voice cracks/squeals on the word "murder", still sends chills down my spine...
My m-i-l says she would pay good money just to listen to Sam Elliot talk...

legend 08-18-2002 07:40 AM

agree with Oldfart...some voices are just plain sexy
