The earliest vivid (and very isolated) memory that I can ever recall, is laying in a crib at night, during the war and seeing the heavy fog in the small, high window with only the street light behind it. I think it was the sound of the old foghorns that that made the imprint of the scene. To this day, the sounding of the horn………. then the distant reply from what must have been a ship, takes me to another, comfortable, place.
Yes. I’ve always lived near the lake.
Is there a sound that makes you recall another place or time? (A GOOD place or time)
