Family footy feast
This weekend is Queens birthday long weekend in Australia.
My 2 brothers and their wives, myself, my son cameron and nephew Jack (both 13) are all going to melbourne to see 4 AFL matches in 3 days and then we are all off to see my sister in Ballarat.
We havent all been together since mums funeral so it will be nice to get together in better circumstances.
Cameron is so excited he can hardly sleep. he loves his footy and we are going to the mecca of Australian Football.

When I read the title of this thread I thought maybe it was some ancient Tasmanian ritual. LOL.
Its wonderful that so many of your family are going. Sounds like a super family reunion.
I hope Cam doesn't lose so much sleep now, that he ends up falling asleep at the games. Is he wearing his PawSox cap?
(((((Grumble))))) have a safe and happy trip. And I hope your teams all win!!

i got back this afternoon,
Friday we got to see Carlton vs Hawthorn at Telstra Dome. 47,000 people and we saw a great game, lead changed 4 times in the last quarter. Telstra dome has a roof that opens and shuts.
Being night time in winter it was shut and it was a great experience.
We saw The Western Bulldogs beat the top team St Kilda at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground) the Mecca of Australian Football on Staurday. The Bulldogs are a low ranked team and my son, two brithers and my sister and her husband are all Bulldog supporters. (My late Dad was too) They had a great day with the surprise win.
We couldn't get tickets to see the Essendon vs Brisbane game on Saturday night at Telstra Dome as all the tickets were sold so Cameron and I went to the movies.
Sunday we were back at the MCG to see Richmond play the Fremantle Dockers. My nephew Jack(a Richmond supporter) enjoyed the first half where his team got to a 39 point lead but they squndered it and lost by 10 points.
We all drove up to Ballarat about 100 kms out of melbourne after the game on Sunday to visit my sister. Monday we went for a 6 Km walk around Lake Wendouree and it was wet and windy but good exercize. We drove back to Melbourne airport and flew home.
Will post some pics when I have gone throught them.
