Am I the only one...
that thinks it's insane that we need laws to protect us from droopy pants?

OK, still don't have a subscription tot he on-line Washington Post, but I can guess...this is aboutthe dumb-ass Virginia law, isn't it?
What we really need is a law to protect us from the shithead legislators. Like, a constitutional amendment calling for stripping any national, state or local legislator of his or her powers, and incarcerating that person for the rest of his or her life. Just for good measure, make that particular amendment an exception to the "ex-post facto" clause.

Oh, yay. The evening news reports that the Virginia legislator has been "publicly embarrassed" into dropping the law.
Too bad it wasn't by someone dropping his or her drawers in the House of Delagates.

Why I agree making such a law was a stupid idea. I did see some clips of people that REALLY should rethink their choice of clothing when going out in public. I for one don't want to see your g-string or your ass crack as you bend over to pick something up.

This was quickly discussed on the local radio show I listen to on my morning commute as an aside to the fact that Dallas ISD is going to try to pursue a mandatory dress code as early as next year. They always said they wouldn't try to do such a thing without parental support. Seems they have the parental support and are going to give it a whirl. The DJ discussed how his daugter has worn uniforms her entire academic life and knows no differently and doesn't gripe about it.
Not completely related to the original topic, but, I'm with Tess on this, while I'm not sure a law is necessary ... some people need a serious date with "What Not to Wear" or at least a visit from the local fashion police

I won't join a club to see what they are about either. I have to see what they are about,.......... THEN I may join.
Even though the topic is new to me, enough was said to get the picture, I believe. It strikes me that fighting dumb-shit with dum-shit is a dum-shit idea.

The one thing I thought was, "How did it get so far? My mother would NOT have ever let me leave the house looking like that."
Then again, I thought I saw steam coming out of her ears when she picked me up from the airport and saw I had jeans on for the plane ride. NOT ONLY THAT but my jeans had rips in them (remember the good ol' 80s? )
I work with young men and women who make the eyes of us old folks bug out with their drawers. The girls have their thongs hiked up halfway up their backs. The guys walk around with pants that could fit two or three of them.
OMG, I sound old now.

i wasn't able to get to that article at this time but i can easily imagine.
It certainly wouldn't be the first time that one of our legislaturers(?) had gone and written an insane and stupid law. Just remember though that some other idiot and his or her buddies voted them into office.
The only way to combat that, is to get to your polls and excercise your constitutional right, VOTE!!!! I don't care how long they try to perpetuate the myth that your vote doesn't count anymore. It does, I've personally seen it in action and voting not only works it quite satisfying.
oops sorry didn't mean to get off on a rant (steps off of soap box)
anyway that was my 2 cents worth
