Thumbs up Twelve Angry Men

There is a touring production of "Twelve Angry Men", and if you enjoy live theatre and if you can get to see it, I think you will be pleased.

"Twelve Angry Men", a drama by Reginald Rose, revolves around the murder trail of a Latino boy who is accused of killing his father. The conviction of the boy would mean a death sentence, and the boy's life is in the hands of the twelve jurors.

For eleven of the jurors the decision is apparent that the boy is guilty, but for one juror (played by Richard Thomas, the actor who was "John Boy" in "The Waltons") the boy's fate warrants enough discussion to eliminate any reasonable doubt the jurors may have. As the play progresses the personalities of the jurors (the foreman of the jury is played by George Wendt, who you may remember from "Cheers") are revealed, as are the underlying issues which influence the guilty decision chosen by the majority of the jurors.

The main issue is that not everything is as it seems. A good production in a Spartan set - a jury room. I was fortunate that Dearsweet noticed it was playing.
