Since this thread started our prices have risen another $0.26/gallon or so. Typical regular is $2.269/gallon. I'm told our prices are the highest in the U.S.

But you didn't tell the pixies outside Cali that our product gets more refining than anywhere else in the U.S. or the world. The refinery in LA supposedly refines all the gasoline for the "golden state". Just bring plenty of gold!

Well, gas here is 1.85 a gallon right now, and it would take about 25-30 to fill our bonneville. Right now, though, my dad is fixing the muffler, so I'm borrowing his 2002 F-250. Yesterday, I put 10 in during the morning before driving from his town to a bigger town about 20 miles away, then 20 miles back to his town, then 75 up to our town, and it was on E, so last night, we put 15 in, and it's just shy of a quarter of a tank. I shudder to think that it'd take almost 60 to fill that monster.
My dreams of having a nice big "redneck" truck have been shot in the foot after putting $25 in gas into his yesterday alone.
*Edited to add: This was for grade 87, the cheap shit. Mid-grade (89) is at about 1.95, and high octane (93) is at about 2.05 right now.
I remember when I first got my liscence 9 years ago, that gas was just starting to rise above $1.00/gallon, but that you could still get lucky some days, in come in around .97/gallon. Shortly after that, gas prices got up to around a shocking 1.20/gallon, and a tv station did a deal with a gas station to where they lowered their prices to .90/ gallon for 5 hours from like 12:30 to 5:30 so they'd get the lunch hour traffic and the rush hour traffic that day. They had people lined up in the streets down 5 blocks on one of the busiest cornors of the 2nd largest city in Michigan for almost 8 hours.
They said they got almost 15x the business that day as they usually do, and since then, have done it regularly about 2x a year.

Not only is gas ridiculously priced, but so is housing. POS houses in my area are starting at $350,000.... and that's for an older house that needs alot of work!

flutelady,
I always wonder about the people who take out such enormous mortgages. It seems so confining. Still, it is their money.

jseal---With things,such as mortgages,it pays,to do some research.When we got our place(Wife is a bookkeeper/accountant
)she did some research & we saved over $15000 by taking a
mortgage for 15yrs,instead of 20yrs.With anything, that you buy over time,it's unbelievable, how much the interest payment is.
